I was reading this great chapter from the New Living Translation and it came in such a fresh way that I wanted to share it with you. David is in need and looking to the Lord.
Verse 1 says: “Bend down, O Lord and hear my prayer; answer me for I need your help. Protect me for I am devoted to you. Save me for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. Be merciful, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. Give me happiness, O Lord for my life depends on you. O Lord you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask your aid. Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord; hear my urgent cry. I will call to you whenever trouble strikes, and you will answer me.”
You may have noticed how often he says “Lord”. Here we see what it means for someone who loves God to be truly dependant on him for all their need. It is also a lovely reminder of a God who is so good and loving towards those who follow Him. I trust that you may know this reality in the coming week and if you do not yet know the Lord, that you may come to know Him even today.
