I wonder how many times you have celebrated Easter?
20? 30? 50? 70?
When the familiar comes around again, we can easily focus on the chocolate eggs, the hot cross buns, or, if we’re feeling fancy, a simnel cake. It can be easy to see Good Friday or Easter Sunday in the diary and simply think, “Nice — another Easter. What’s next?”
This year, we want to slow down.
This Easter we’re going to focus on “The Road to Easter” by journeying together through John’s Gospel as we gather to hear from God’s Word. We will explore the Gospel of John carefully and prayerfully. Along the way, we’ll notice how God chooses and uses sinful people like us in His kingdom. We’ll consider the accusations against Jesus and reflect on the power of the cross.
We will pause at the tomb, sit with the weight of Jesus’ burial, and then celebrate the joy of the empty grave and the hope of His resurrection.
Join us as we travel this road to Easter and encounter the living hope found in Jesus.
